| Between 2011 and 2014, urban planner Ton Schaap was a lecturer in urban planning at the Academy of Architecture in Amsterdam. He investigated the qualities of eleven specific places in as many cities. What makes those places so successful? Ton Schaap invited ten colleagues to answer that question. He himself wrote the introductory text and the story about his own field of work in Amsterdam.
